Wordle Solver FAQ

How does the Wordle solver work?
Enter your clues from your current game. In the Green field, type the pattern of confirmed letters using underscores for blanks — e.g. if A is confirmed in position 2, type _A___. In the Yellow field, type any letters you know are in the word but haven't placed yet. In the Grey field, type letters you've confirmed are not in the word. The solver filters our word list to show only words that match all your clues.
What is the best starting word for Wordle?
Statistically, the best starting words cover the most common English letters. CRANE, SLATE, RAISE and AUDIO are consistently ranked among the top openers because they include frequent vowels and consonants, giving you the most information from your very first guess.
Does the Wordle answer change every day?
Yes. The New York Times Wordle resets with a new answer every day at midnight local time. Everyone playing on the same day sees the same word. Use our solver anytime during the day to help narrow down that day's answer.
Can I use this for other word games?
Absolutely. While this tool is optimised for 5-letter Wordle, you can change the word length to 4, 6 or 7 letters for games like Quordle, Dordle, Wordle Unlimited, and other daily word games that use the same colour clue system.

Rhyme Finder FAQ

What's the difference between a perfect rhyme and a near rhyme?
A perfect rhyme shares the exact same ending sound — like CAT and HAT, or NIGHT and LIGHT. A near rhyme (also called a slant rhyme or half rhyme) shares a similar but not identical sound — like WORM and STORM. Near rhymes are commonly used in modern songwriting and rap because they give more flexibility while still creating a sense of rhythm and connection.
Can I use this for rap lyrics and songwriting?
Absolutely. Our rhyme finder is built with songwriters, rappers and poets in mind. Both perfect and near rhyme results are shown so you have the maximum number of options to fit your flow and meter. Click any word to copy it directly to your clipboard.
What's the hardest word to rhyme in English?
Orange, purple, silver, and month are famously difficult to rhyme in English. Orange has no perfect rhyme (though "sporange" — a botanical term — is sometimes cited). Purple rhymes with "hirple" (to walk with a limp). Silver rhymes with "chilver" (a female lamb). Month has no commonly accepted perfect rhyme.

Scrabble FAQ

How is Scrabble score calculated?
Each letter in Scrabble has a point value based on how rare it is in English. Common letters like E, A, I, O, U score 1 point each. Rare letters like Q and Z score 10 points each. Your word score is the sum of all letter values, multiplied by any Double or Triple Word Score tiles your word lands on. Our checker shows the base letter score before board multipliers.
What dictionary does Scrabble use?
Official Scrabble in North America uses the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary (OSPD) and the Official Tournament and Club Word List (OWL/TWL). International Scrabble uses SOWPODS (now called Collins Scrabble Words). Our checker covers the most commonly accepted words across both dictionaries.
What are the highest scoring Scrabble words?
QUIZZIFY (played on a triple word score) is theoretically the highest-scoring single word play possible. Common high-value words include QUIZ (22pts base), JAZZY (35pts base), ZEPHYR (23pts base), and JINX (17pts base). Two-letter words with high-value letters like ZA (11pts) and QI (11pts) are extremely useful in competitive play.
